Progressive Aerodyne is a family business that has been designing and building aircraft for over 30 years. Kerry Richter, and three generations of his family, together with their friend and partner Paige Lynette, all work side by side in the company that has produced over 400 flying aircraft to the delight of pilots world wide.
Kerry is the President of the company and together with Paige they are in full time research and development of improvements to the SeaRey and of new aircraft designs for the future. Combined they have over 50 years of aircraft design and construction experience with specialization in seaplane operations. Our full time aeronautical engineer, Damir Blazevic has over 30 years engineering experience, the last 19 of which were with Airbus and most recently on the Airbus 380 design. Damir has personally built over 9 aircraft, many of his own design. Damir’s specialty is quality control and so he has the final word at PA as to what goes out the door to our valued customers. The team works with state of the art computers and aircraft design software to ensure airworthiness and compliance with aviation standards.
Wayne Richter is the head of the family and employs most of his time purchasing the materials and processes that go into the making of the kit. It’s wide range of aircraft grade aluminums, various anodizing processes, composite seaplane hulls and the like. Together with daughter Renee Everard the two carefully prepare the kit from a detailed packing list for shipments destined all over the world. Renee has the big job of organizing the stock room of all parts, over 3000 in all, as they make their way into a finished kit.
Many say Michelle Richter is the heart of the company and the one that “knows what and where everything is”. Michelle manages all accounting and office manager duties. That’s a huge job in the aviation business with many complex registration procedures and rules. Add to that, customers from dozens of countries world wide. It is a job that over the years she has come to master. She is also the pleasant voice that answers the telephone that our pilots the world over have come to know.
Brother Dave Curtis manages the machine shop and together with Bryce Richter (the 3rd generation) they do the magic of turning raw aluminum and steel into quality aircraft parts with computer controlled machining.
You will find, as the many customers that have gone before you, that Progressive Aerodyne is a small company but with a big heart. Together the team constantly works toward new improvements, designs and ever increasing standards of quality for the enjoyment and safety of their customers.
