Transporting with Your Own Trailer

You may also prefer to carry the kit home with you on your own trailer. Please make note of the crate dimensions to be sure that your trailer is large enough.

If you will be transporting your kit only a short distance from the factory, you may elect not to have the kit packed in the wooden crate. It will then be in cardboard boxes and unboxed bundles. The hull will not be boxed. You will need to ensure the safety of your own transportation.

An assembled aircraft can be carried on your trailer. Disassembly for transport takes two people about 45 minutes (and 45 minutes for reassembly). One type of trailer used is an 8 feet (24.4 m) wide by 20 feet (6.1 m) long flatbed trailer with a 20 inch (51 cm) high carpeted storage area underneath (with access on the top of the box). The fuselage/empennage is carried on top of the trailer and the wings are stowed in the box underneath.
